It had taken hours for Jen to get ready for the masquerade. She had never attended one, so she wasn't certain about the proper attire. All day she had been wondering if her dress was okay because it was on the shorter side. From what she saw online most girls wore longer dresses, like ball gown type of dresses, to masquerades because that was what was traditionally worn. But hey, dare to be different. With being different in mind, Jen had chosen to curl her hair so that people would be less apt to recognize her. Her hair for the most part was pin straight, so it took tons of hair spray and style products to get her hair to hold the curl. Hopefully it would hold all night long.
Playing with the necklace around her neck as she walked in her silver heels, Jen couldn't help but to wonder if she made the right shoe choice. She was short to begin with, so she was all for adding a little height, but she was afraid she was going to fall. All week she had been practicing walking around her room to get the feel of the shoes, but even with the practice she still felt slightly unstable. Sighing, Jen shook her head and smiled when she felt the feather of her mask tickle her skin. When she first saw the mask in the window of a store she knew it would be perfect and bought it on the spot. It was simple yet it possessed uniqueness.
Coming to the doors that led into the masquerade, Jen paused and shook off her nerves. It was going to be a fun night and it was pointless to ponder her choices now since it was to late to change anything. Letting out a small breath, Jen walked through the doors and looked around, there were a few people present, but there were also still more people coming in. There were pumpkins and candles around the room giving off a soft glow of light. A DJ was set up in the corner already blasting music and a refreshments table was set up against one of the walls on the side. Wandering over to the table, Jen grabbed a drink and turned around to face the room and see if she could recognize anyone.
