It's been about two weeks since Gabriel had passed away from his tragic car accident. Marcus had finally met his father one day when he was coming home from school. He talked to him for a while and had grown to really like the man. They had met up a few times after that just to talk. Gabriel had become someone to talk to, someone who was not judgmental and wasn't biased. Gabe became someone he looked forward to meeting up with once a week, just to talk. He didn't know why he never met him before or why his mom and him split up but obviously they had their reasons.
When Marcus found out about him being in a car accident, he was distraught. He had no idea what to do, he couldn't tell his mom about him and Gabe becoming close. So he had no one to talk to. He had ended up talking to his psychiatrist at the hospital he had stayed in for a while after he tried to kill himself, and that helped a little bit. The psychiatrist told him that maybe he should stay away from his house for a while so he wasn't around the depression and the depressed state of his mother. He had agreed fully and that same day, he asked his buddy at school if he could crash at his place for a week or so. His friend agreed and he wrote a note to his mom telling him that he was going to be okay but he needed to go away for a while to help him deal with this and not be around the depressed state of everyone because it wasn't healthy and good for him right now.
Now, two weeks later, Marcus was heading back to his house. He knew that he had missed the funeral and that was okay with him. He couldn't stand to be near so many depressed and upset people. It wasn't good for him because his state of mind wasn't good. He still wasn't in a good state of mind but he had to return home. He had no choice. He knew his mom probably needed him but he just hoped that he would be able to handle it. He hadn't heard from his sister Victoria, whom he really needed to speak to. He tried calling her cell phone but she never answered, or called him back. Marcus entered the house, "Hello?" Marcus called out.
