It had been three months since the twins, Caleb and Lindsey were born, and to Emma they were growing too fast. It seemed only yesterday that they were born and brought home and changed Emma and Alec's lives forever. Midnight feedings, changing hundreds of diapers, and cleaning lots of spit up. Thankfully, the family dog, Miles, was very gentle when it came to the babies. He was patient with Emma when she couldn't take him for her run, so she could take care the babies. Caleb seemed to take after Alec more, and he had Alec's dark blond hair. Lindsey however, took after Emma. She had dark brown hair, and she had blue eyes. She the more lively one of the two, and was a mover and a shaker. Emma was trying to brace herself for when Lindsey started to learn how to walk. Look out world! Lindsey would be a force to be reckoned with. Emma was going to have to have to be chasing her all over the house. Caleb was more laid back, but he loved to be held and played with. She could see Lindsey being the more independent one.
Emma and Alec talked about it, and decided that Emma could stay home with the twins after her maternity leave was over. That way she could be more dedicated to taking care of the kids as they get older. However, she wouldn't give up teaching entirely, she would do private tutoring on the side, and who know what else. Emma had the babies down for a nap, and she stood in the kitchen and was baking cookies for Alec's class. Also in the over, she had a rosemary chicken roasting. The air had the aroma of rosemary and olive oil, and it slowly drifted into other parts of the house. Miles sat on the edge of the kitchen, and looked at Emma. His tail slowly wagged, and his licked his lips. Hoping that Emma would give into his doggy charms and throw him a piece of food. Emma put the cookies on cooling trays and set them high on the counter so her dog couldn't eat any of them. She took off her apron, and walked out to her garden to check on her hydrangeas. She trimmed off a few and carried them inside. She carried them inside and placed them in a vase, placing them on the bar counter facing into the living room. She loved making her home look welcoming and warm. She tried her best to be a good wife and she hoped to be a good mother to the twins.
