Lawson still wasn't so sure he wanted to go through with this. Although Ellen told him she wasn't going to get pregnant, there was still a chance. But Lawson's thoughts soon became interrupted when Ellen kissed him tenderly. The words she whispered in his ear had him groaning in confusion. Such a difficult choice... Okay, so if he didn't want to continue Ellen would be fine with it-
"Ung, not fair," he argued weakly as Ellen bit his lip and continued down his jawline. "You know what you're doing..." There was now a hint of humor in his voice.
He allowed his eyes to close when he felt Ellen's fingers run through his hair, and soon he opened his eyes again to see Ellen staring into his. He sighed and shook his head. "Something's telling me we shouldn't do this tonight..." But Ellen's eyes, even though they were a beautiful blue, seemed to be like a puppy dog's. How could he resist her? Plus, he really wanted to be with Ellen tonight. "Just this one time, we're not going to worry about it. Okay?" He said defeatedly, mostly to remind himself to not take this chance again, even if it was a slim one. Soon, however, all other emotion other than love filled his mind and he was placing his hand gently on the back of Ellen's head and kissing her deeply. He then moved down to her neck again as he continued to help Ellen undress.
"You're so beautiful," he said breathlessly.
Once they were both fully undressed Lawson moved them under the sheets and continued kissing Ellen. He just felt like he couldn't get close enough to this beautiful, stunning woman. As he was caressing Ellen all over, a ringing broke the silence of the room. Lawson groaned and looked over at the phone. "Are you kidding me?" He asked incredulously.
The phone, however, was an inanimate object so it couldn't pick up his sarcasm. Or anything else, for that matter. It continued to ring and Lawson should his head.
"Just ignore it," Lawson muttered to Ellen as he continued to try and savor every inch of her.
Soon the phone stopped ringing, and the answering machine played Lawson's greeting before it beeped. "Lawson, it's your mother. Pick up."
Lawson's eyes widened and he shivered slightly. "Yeah, definitely ignore it."
But once again the phone rang. Then the beep. "Lawson, it's really important. I need to talk to you."
Right before Lawson could do anything else, the phone rang again. "I need to talk to you about something very important right now. You know you shouldn't ignore your own mother like this. I'm just going to keep calling until you pick up."
Lawson sighed angrily. "She means it, too." But the phone wasn't ringing again, so hopefully-
Ring.
Lawson practically attacked the phone and shook it before pressing the talk button. "Mom, what is it? I'm kind of busy right now... No, I wasn't ignoring you- Okay, I was, but I'm seriously unable to talk at the moment... Because I'm preoccupied with more important matters. He winked at Ellen before rolling his eyes at the phone. Soon he had to hold it away from his ear and wince as his mother chastised him before finally calming down and getting to the point.
Her words caused Lawson's stomach to sink and his eyes flashed with horrible disappointment and dullness. "No Mom, I haven't heard from him. I haven't heard from him in over ten years. Is that what was so important? ...I can't believe you. You call me and ask me this every month. If anything changes, I'll let you know." He now couldn't get a word in edgewise as his mother kept talking.
