"Well then, as long as we don't tell anyone I'm willing to continue being your personal, private Mrs. Robinson, she said with a suggestive wink. Yup, she was definitely starting to get more comfortable. Usually she wasn't this playful with people, but Lawson was special. Not very many people got to see this side of her, so this really did show how comfortable she was beginning to feel around him. "Hey! I have you so I'm not that poor and deprived, she said sarcastically. "And I will thoroughly enjoy teaching you everything I know about progressive rock." A face of absolute shock and horror appeared on her face when he said he only read the Lord of the Rings. "Lawson Raynard Andrews you will not speak to me again until you pick up A Farewell to Arms and read it! she said dramatically. Of course she was kidding. "And 1984 as well! I can't believe you silly man! These are classics." Sometimes Ellen forgot heavy fiction wasn't a favorite of most normal people. When he did list off some of his favorites she couldn't help but smile. "The Great Gatsby was wonderful! F. Scott Fitzgerald's impact on the Jazz Age, a term he coined by the way," she stopped herself and blushed a bit. "I'm sorry. I should probably stop talking," she said softly. Her heart jumped a bit when he mentioned Glenn Beck and Greg Gutfield. "So you're a conservative?" she said with a raised brow. Ellen happened to be as well, but she didn't want him to know that yet. She wanted him to sweat a bit and make him think she was a crazy socialist. Again, their similarities were really beginning to show when he mentioned he loved history. "That I am. Thank God you aren't one of those idiots who believe history is unimportant." Some people wanted to get rid of World History and replace it with another math class. That angered Ellen to no end because A] she needed her job and B] World History was just as important as any math class. "You could never be boring. Elle pursed her lips tightly. "OK Lawson, I love you, but you need to watch The Lion in Winter. Katharine Hepburn was by role model as a little girl and it's just a well done film." she said bluntly. The two of them were just going to have to sit down together and have a movie night. "Al Pacino fan? she asked with a raised brow. She loved Scent of a Woman and of course The Godfather. Then the food arrived. "Oh Lawson, the things I'm going to have to teach you." she said, shaking her head humorously. |
