The day was beginning to come to a close as Ellen finished up her last lecture for the day. It was always a wonder how she managed to get through hours and hours of teaching, but when she thought about it she realized it could be much, much worse. Teaching and her had somewhat of a love hate relationship, but it was heavier on the love, she supposed. For the first year of her college life Ellen assumed she'd go into political science and strive to become the first woman president or something, but that definitely didn't turn out. Really, it wasn't even that Ellen wanted to be a politician anymore. In fact, that was the last thing she wanted. Once she realized how strenuous it would be she switched her major. Teaching was also strenuous, but in a totally different way.
When it came to her job, Ellen had two classifications: the time before Silas and the time after Silas. When Elle first Arrived at Wentworth Academy she was the only history professor in the building and for a very long time it had been just her teaching every branch of history and government from American, to World, and even Economics and U.S. Politics and Government. The minute the school announced they had taken on another teacher she rejoiced. Elle loved teaching and history, but there was only so much she could take. Plus with that many classes the amount of paperwork was incredibly overwhelming. Before Silas there were no free periods for her. Everything was much better, and she even had the occasional break here and there.
The forty eight year old woman was there the day interviews took place. Many had applied for the position, but Silas was really the only one that stood out to her and apparently to the others as well. Elle had only talked to him once or twice briefly after he was hired, but for the most part she liked him. Granted, there were a couple character traits he possessed that got on her nerves, but no one could really help that. With that in mind, Ellen decided to go next store and say hello to him and maybe get to know him a bit better.
The tall, auburn haired woman did just that. When she saw that his door was open she walked in and took a seat in the first desk in front of the professor. "I hope you don't mind me popping in," Ellen said. "How're your classes going?"
