Gwyneira stepped onto the ice and let out a soft, happy breath. It had been too long since she'd been on the ice. She'd gone home for Christmas break and her parents made sure to keep her too busy to skate. Her spirit and feet yearned to fly again, and going to see the movie Frozen hadn't helped anything. All of her friends freaked when they saw Elsa on screen and immediately turned to Gwyn and smiled. She smiled back. She knew what they were all thinking. But Gwyn was more like Anna, ironically. Sure she could definitely relate to Elsa about having to keep things in (she couldn't show her parents anymore how much she loved skating) but she was friendly and optimistic like Anna. Anyway, she'd had "Let it Go" stuck in her head for three weeks and finally she was able to skate to the song.
She'd plugged her iPhone into the stereo located in the sound booth before going down to the rink. No one else was there so she could play her new favorite song through the arena's stereos and not hear any complaints.
She started off just skating circles and figure-eights, but as the music got more intense, she "let go" and began to jump axles. Suddenly she got inspired for a new skating routine so she worked on the choreography to show to her coach on Sunday.
The feeling of the powerful music coursing through her veins and just the speed of her skates on the ice made Gwyn's adrenaline pump through her and a huge smile broke out onto her face. This was where she felt the most at home. Her whole demeanor changed on the ice. Most of the time, although she was friendly and outgoing, there was something she was holding back.
