As Trine prepared for her date she couldn't believe it was happening. It had been two days since the interrogation with Loki and since then the cops had interrogated Lorenzo and found that Loki was innocent in the whole thing. Okay, that was a huge relief. But for some reason Trine wasn't sure why she was still irked by the whole thing. It was most likely because he was so much like her and little did she know that she'd eventually love that about him.
Loki truly was the only man who challenged Trine. She had to admit she liked the challenge, though. So she put on her helmet and hopped on her motorbike to head down to the cafe. Trine wasn't the type of woman to want to be picked up before a date. When she walked through the cafe she knew all eyes were on her, and she ignored them all. Her emerald green eyes scanned the room for Loki before she found him sitting at a booth near the window. An ocean view. Nice touch. She smirked before walking over to Loki and sitting across from him. "Well I'm glad to see you didn't stand me up."

When Trine finally believed him and realized that he was in fact innocent in the whole ordeal, he was relieved. He was also glad that she agreed to have him take her out on a date. Now he was able to go out with this beautiful woman who was just like him in so many ways that it was frightening. Loki had a lot of difficulty in finding something to wear for the date but he finally settled on a pair of jeans and a shirt with a blazer over it. After all a second first impression is better than the first she got which was him being convicted of a crime. One that he didn't commit.
Loki got to the cafe before she did and he asked for a booth with an ocean view. He ordered a water while he was waiting for her to show up. If he said she wasn't nervous he would be lying. He was nervous as hell to be on a date with a girl like Trine. It's been a while since he's actually been on a date so the fact that he was sitting here right now was pretty nice. Loki was looking over the menu when he heard a voice speaking to him. He smirked and looked up. "It's nice to see you didn't stand me up either. Could have just not showed up," Loki commented nodding to the set across from him. "Any way I could never stand a beautiful girl like yourself up. That would be a rude thing for me to do and I wasn't raised that way." Loki looked at her. "How was your day beautiful?"

"Well I'm a woman of my word… At times," she said with a smirk. But it fell when Loki called her beautiful. Okay, she wasn't used to being called that. 'Hot, smokin', sexy', those were the names she was called and she was sick of it. Being called beautiful was different and very nice, but she wondered if Loki was trying to get somewhere with her. Something told her no, but again Loki made Trine question her instincts at times. "Pet names so soon? Thank you, handsome," she said playfully with a wink.
"My day was uneventful. I got stuck behind a computer screen almost all day when I'd rather be chasing down criminals. How about yours? Bet things are better at work now that everyone knows you're innocent." The waiter came by to take her drink order and she ordered a Shirley Temple. Then she looked back at Loki. "You have to understand that until proven innocent, people in my position have to assume the person is guilty. So I think we should just start over."

Loki heard what she said and he smirked. "Devious. I like it," He said to her. It was true. He tended to chase after girls who were similar to him because they could give him the same wit that he threw out at them. When Loki called her beautiful, he saw her smirk fell. He back tracked a bit and hoped that she didn't mind him calling her beautiful. There were days where he was blunt in his words and he was only calling her beautiful because she was. He heard what she said and he smiled sheepishly. "You're quite welcome." Loki said to her. "I hope you don't mind that I called you beautiful. It's just, I speak my mind and you're the most beautiful girl I've seen in a while. And calling someone 'hot' or 'sexy' just doesn't seem right. Yes it's nice but it could be demeaning towards girls."
Loki heard what she said and he pouted. "It's a shame you didn't have my handsome face in your office this afternoon for no reason," Loki said, a smirk replacing his pout. Loki heard her ask about his day and he nodded, "I've actually moved up at the shop. I've been moved to manager. So now I pretty much run the shop. So my schedule has been pretty busy." Loki heard what she said and he nodded. "No I completely understand that beautiful. You were just doing your job. But I agree we should start over." Loki looked at her and held his hand out. "Mr. Loki Earley. It's a pleasure to meet a beautiful girl such as yourself."

Wow that sheepish smile was endearing. If she wasn't careful she'd fall right for him. Why, all of a sudden, was she finding a man interesting and attractive? Love only made people do foolish things. She wasn't against love and didn't think it was a waste of time (she saw the love her parents had for so many years), but soon in her life she realized it might not be for her. That was crushing. Yet here was a man that could possibly (she thought it was a long-shot) love her and she was questioning it. Was she afraid? No. Trine didn't get afraid of things like that. Then what was it?
"Oh no, I don't mind being called beautiful. I'll be honest; and really what girl doesn't? I'm just trying to figure out if you're after something more than just dinner…" She decided to be blunt. She took a sip of her water the waiter had brought over earlier. Trine didn't drink very often. Alcohol dimmed the senses and she always liked to be alert. And she wanted to make sure she was alert tonight. She highly doubted Loki would try anything, but Trine wanted him to know she was a woman of high morals even though sometimes she might not seem that way. He was getting anywhere with her tonight in that regard. Her eyes widened slightly at his intelligent (and carefully thought out?) words about other names for women. Still she couldn't help but find his previous statement slightly amusing due to its honesty. "Thank you for not saying I'm the most beautiful woman you've ever seen. 'In a while' is much more truthful."
Trine actually genuinely laughed (and she'd deny any accusations of her cheeks becoming pink) at Loki's joke. "Yes, it is…" Her voice didn't hide any honesty that is was -in fact- a shame, and she was lying to herself by thinking that she didn't do that on purpose. Her eyebrows raised in genuine interest when Loki mentioned his promotion. "Guess the boss was extremely happy you were innocent. Or he's afraid of you now that you've been questioned under his employment." She winked at him to let him know not to take offense at her words.
There was that word again. "Beautiful". Gosh it had been so long since she'd really taken the time to ponder on the meaning of the word. She made a mental note to look it up in the dictionary later that night. And now he understood. Well she knew that he obviously understood (most likely) at the time of his questioning, but it was still funny to hear him on her side after the words they'd had in the interrogation room. She shook his hand with a small, but still guarded, smile. "You're a charmer, Mr. Earley. I'm Trine Chamberlain. The pleasure is all mine. Did you know that my nickname is actually 'Loki'? I earned that name back in grade school. Kept it ever since. Do you know why?" For some reason her Norwegian accent became more prevalent in her mouth. Was that because her guard was being let down?

If Loki said that he didn't find her attractive, he would definitely be lying. There was something about her that made him like her and want to get to know her. See, Loki is really picky about what girls he goes after but he wouldn't mind pursuing Trine. There was something about her that made him want to get to know her and the need to know her more became more prominent as the hours ticked by. He didn't want anything other than just a simple lunch with her. Loki looked at her as she started talking.
"Well I've known a few girls, not any that I would pursue, but they actually got offended when I called them beautiful. It astound me that someone would be appalled at being called beautiful," Loki said shaking his head. He looked up at her. "All I'm after is simply dinner and to get to know you. Which I'm glad you finally gave me the chance to get to know you outside of a jail interrogation room." He added with a chuckle. Of course he would feel the waters and if it felt right, he would definitely be kissing her cheek before she left. He definitely wanted to have her in his life, one way or another. He knew it would be a while but he would wait forever if it meant that he would eventually have her in his life.
Loki heard her laugh and her laughter was music to his ears. "You have a nice laugh," He said with a smile. "You should laugh more often. And the tinge of pink on your cheeks are very becoming on you..." He added slyly with a wink. To see that he was having this affect on her made him smile. It was nice to know that she was just as attracted to him, as far as he could tell, as he was to her. Loki heard what he said. "And maybe, it's a bit of both. But I'm not complaining. I'm making more money than I was before." He saw the wink and he shook his head with a genuine smile.
Beautiful. A word that he often called his mother to make her feel better when she was feeling down. He slowly learned that it's the little things, and the nice words, that make people smile and he loved to see his mother smile. So the fact that he was making her smile by calling her beautiful made him happy. All he wanted was for her to be happy. Loki accepted her hand and he gave it a firm shake, holding her hand in his and not letting it go once the shake was finish. He couldn't help but feel that her hand fit perfectly in his. "Trine... what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. It suits you," He said. Loki heard what she continued to say and his eyebrows rose. He smiled even more when he heard a slight accent come out of her mouth. "Do tell my dear," He said in interest.

"They were probably the type of girls who'd prefer being called a derogatory term," Trine said with a roll of her eyes. She knew girls like that, and they had only their upbringing to thank for that. She was beginning to feel better when Loki said that all he wanted was to get to know her. Okay, she could believe him about that. "Thank you," she said with a shy smile when Loki complimented her laugh. This was so out of character for her.
Her eyes widened and her blush deepened when Loki spoke about her blushing. She got out a pocket mirror and snapped it shut when she saw it was true. "I usually never blush…" She was too tough for that kind of thing. But obviously Loki brought her guard down, and she wasn't sure if she liked that or not. She was torn. It was new but also exciting and refreshing. She cleared her throat and tried to make the blush go away, but she didn't know that it stayed there. Time to change the subject. "Ooh, more money than before, huh? Allow me to order one of everything on the menu tonight," she quipped.
A soft "hm" escaped her when Loki commented on her name, and she nodded slightly. "Thank you, but I think my nickname suits me better. I'm full of mischief, so be wary. However I think that you're going to be the only one who never gets tired of it. Unless you don't like to be second place in something." She winked at him. "So when I was younger I'd always pull pranks and tricks. One day in grade school we read about Norse mythology and the teacher said that I reminded him of a female version of Loki. Everyone agreed and I wasn't complaining, so the name stuck. Now anytime I pull a prank on someone -if they are intelligent and know their mythology- they immediately grumble and call me Loki."
She shrugged and took a sip of water while she waited for Loki to reply. But soon a thought occurred to her and she smirked mischievously. Her first prank of the night. "Si meg, Mr. Earley, snakker du norsk?"

"Oh they most definitely were. I was feeling my oats when I was in school and even when I got out of school. Came to realize that I disliked those types of girls and I knew that I didn't want to chase after them," Loki said softly. He hated the girls who preferred being called a derogatory term and he immediately stopped talking to them if he realized that they were like that. However, if Trine had been a girl like that, he would probably try and either change that, or he would just have to get used to it. When he gave her the compliment on the laugh, he saw her smile shyly. "You're welcome beautiful."
He saw her reaction when he told her about her blushing. He smiled at the cuteness of her actions. It was very adorable. He smiled at her. "I like it. Gives your cheeks some color, makes your eyes shine," Loki said softly. "But don't worry. I won't tell anyone." Loki knew that she didn't want anyone to know, based on her reaction, so he knew that she didn't want anyone to find out about her blushing. He needed to reassure her that he wouldn't speak a word. He heard what she said and he shook his head. "Ba-Trine, if you could eat one of everything on the menu, you would be my hero," Loki said. He almost called her 'babe' because it sounded natural but he had to stop himself from calling her babe. He took a sip of his water to quench his parched throat.
He heard her explanation and he smiled, shaking his head. "We're going to get along just fine," Loki said. "I have a feeling we will try to one up each other every chance we get." Loki knew that if they went into a prank war, they would try to outdo each other every chance they could get. "I think if we called each other Loki, it would get very confusing. So I'll either call you Trine, or beautiful. Whichever you prefer." Loki heard what she asked and she smirked at her. "Ja jeg gjør det, Miss Chamberlain. Du trodde du hadde en på meg eller hva?" Loki said smirking.

That was surprising to hear that Loki wasn't the type of guy to go after easy girls. Trine could see the true disdain he had for girls like that so she knew he wasn't lying, and that earned him another mark up in her respect for him. At his statement about her blush, Trine had a hard time believing it. To her the blush looked foreign, but if Loki said it looked good on her, then she'd try it out. She'd already decided that she wanted to see him again and that this dinner wasn't going to be a one time occurrence. "Thank you," she said in regard to both his compliment and him saying he wouldn't tell anyone. She knew she could trust him with that. Not only because she saw his sincerity but she also had the feeling that Loki knew he'd been in for a world of hurt if he ever let the secret about her blushing slip. She almost chuckled at the thought but decided against it.
Her eyebrow raised. Did he almost call her "babe" or "baby"? Normally she'd be twisting a man's arm if they dared to call her that but once again she didn't want to do that to Loki. If she was honest with herself then she'd admit that she was almost disappointed the word hadn't slipped from his lips. "Well I'm afraid I won't be your hero because there is no way I can eat one of everything here," she said, chuckling afterwards.
She found herself smiling at his next words and she nodded in agreement. "Oh but that will be fun. Imagine the looks on everyone's faces around us as our pranks never cease." She even laughed again. "Yes, it would get very confusing and it would seem like we were talking about ourselves in the third person. And you know what? You can call me whichever name you want. You're a special exception." She was flattered that Loki had given her a choice of what named she preferred, and although she preferred beautiful, she wouldn't admit it.
Her eyes widened when her prank didn't go right and Loki replied in Norwegian. How did he know that language? Okay, that was too creepy. But it was awesome all the same. "Ja ... Jeg gjorde det, faktisk. Vanligvis folk stirrer på meg uforstående. Hvordan vet du at mitt morsel?"

Most girls hated guys who like to be with easy girls. He, personally, sometimes loved a challenge. It made him getting the girl a lot more special and he couldn't help but feel like she was definitely going to be a challenge to get, once he got to know her. But as of right now, he felt very comfortable with Trine, and he felt like he's known her all of his life and he kind of liked it. He knew that he definitely clicked with Trine and that was what he was looking for in a girl. He knew that if he told his mom about her, she would bust on him about how he always told her that he never would have found a girl because he was too picky. But now he was proving her wrong.
When Loki almost had a slip of the tongue and called her baby, he saw her eyebrows raise. He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He didn't want to ruin his chances of being with her but now he felt like he should have said baby, just to see what she would have done. He heard what she said and he laughed, "Don't worry ba-beautiful it's alright. I don't think I could eat one of everything on the menu either." He almost slipped again. What was with him. It felt natural. But thankfully he switched to beautiful instead of continuing.
Loki laughed. "It will definitely be fun," Loki said smiling at her. He noticed that he was still holding her hand and he moved his hand away, unsure if she minded or not. He kept his hand busy by taking a sip of the water that he got earlier. He heard what she said and he smiled. "Well I'm glad I'm a special exception. I guess we will just have to wait and see what I call you. It will probably be different every time."
Loki saw her astonished face and he smirked. "Vel jeg liker å forvirre folk. Og nå har vi et språk som vi kan snakke og ingen vil vite hva vi sier." Loki smiled at her. " På skolen var dette et alternativ for meg å ta, så jeg bestemte meg for å ta norsk og elsket det." He replied to answer her question.

Trine could hear Vera's merciless -though friendly- teasing. She wondered if she'd even hear the song "Miss Independent" be played in the office every time she walked in. For now Trine was going to keep this whole thing under wraps until she was sure that she wanted to go steady with Loki. He was one of the few people she could stand to be around so far. Had Loki almost called her "baby" again? It was nice to see him holding back from that particular pet name, but she admitted to herself that eventually she wanted to hear him call her that. For experimental purposes, of course… "Well that's good to hear." She chuckled. She was reminded that Loki was holding her hand when she felt him slip it away. Disappointment flashed briefly in her eyes and she tried to hide it behind a smirk as she watched his hand. She cleared her throat and returned her eyes to the menu but looked back up at him when he spoke again. "Well I hope it will be nothing bad," she said playfully. She knew Loki wouldn't do that, but she had to be sure.
Her eyes were sparkling as Loki spoke perfect Norwegian. "Tror ikke du bare elsker når det er mulling?" She leaned in slightly and smirked again, changing her voice to a lower, more intimate volume. "Holder mysteriet gar." Although Trine had a feeling she didn't have to be so… seductive with Loki, it didn't mean she wasn't going to be. She liked to have a little fun. "Ah," she said with a thoughtful nod. "That is a rare language for a school to offer." She decided to switch to English for the moment. "Men du har perfekt uttale." A sly smirk and a wink, but pure honesty in her tone. "Has the language gotten you very far in life?"
