It had been a month since Victoria went to in-patient rehab for alcoholism, and it was really tough. But she wanted to change so she was determined to get through the hardship. She didn't like who the alcohol made her be. During her darkest moments she knew it had been the alcohol taking over, and Victoria had been hiding. But not anymore. Now Victoria was going to fight full-force and never need a drink again. It was particularly rough during Christmas because she was away from her family, but Diana and Alex had come and they had their own little Christmas. It was an extremely touching gestures and it showed her that they were her true friends and she was forgiven.
Now her mom wanted to have dinner, and Victoria honestly had to say that she was nervous. She'd only seen her mom a few times in rehab but therapy taught her she didn't have to be embarrassed. Still, she could see the look in her mother's eyes whenever she walked into the rehab center, and it always made Victoria feel different. Thankfully she now knew that she wasn't Gabriel's biological daughter; that made the adopted pill much easier to swallow. But she still felt a little insecure about the whole thing, and she couldn't look at Natalie the same anymore. It wasn't that she didn't like her sister, but she was kind of jealous- maybe? That was something else she needed to work on.
She arrived early so she decided to get a table next to the water. She asked for a water only and paled visibly when the wine menu was placed in front of her. Victoria had to explain to an embarrassed waitress that she wasn't twenty-one yet, and the waitress quickly whisked the menu away with obsessive apologies. Once that little episode was over with, Victoria looked at the food menu while she was for her mom.
