Took a shiner from the fist of your best friend
As usual, Carmen was on a tight schedule and Savanna was late. She only ever did deliveries for a few of the clients she was more fond of -- or those she charged outrageous prices, almost always because she hated them -- but Savanna had really been pushing that liberty lately. Every time they'd scheduled to meet over the past three weeks, she'd been tardy by at least ten minutes and Carmen was getting sick of her shit. Oh well, what could you do, really? She should just be happy that her moderately attractive parents had decided to procreate. That was, assuredly, the only reason she got away with half of the things she did...because she was, by a lot of people's standards, very attractive. She couldn't help but take a bit of muse at where her attitude came from, though. She'd only come face-to-face with one other girl who frustrated her so much and that was Ryker, a level of which she'd thought previously impossible of matching.
Seaside Cafe was pretty busy at this time of day, but truth be told Carmen didn't care even a little bit. She'd lay the drugs out in plain sight and challenge someone to fuck with her and her six inch switchblade. No one really bothered her to begin with unless they wanted what she had to offer...drugs of a wide array. Whatever her 'clients' wanted, she either had or had connections to, and the reputation she'd earned along with this gave her a thick shield against potential antagonists. Especially after, when backed in between a rock and a hard place, she'd actually held her word and stabbed a guy.
And back then, she'd had a lot more to lose than she did now.
Finally she decided to shoot Savanna a quick text, and when she looked up she couldn't help but notice a few of her classmates gawking at her from across the patio. Part of her wanted to get up and go mess with all of them, maybe scare the shit out of them for fun, but instead she gave a half-assed wave (to let them know they'd been spotted and the discretion they must've thought they had was null and void) and turned her eyes back to the ocean.
Five minutes went by, and just as Carmen was about to get up and leave Savanna here with nothing, she saw her approaching. "That's okay, take your time," she shouted to her, flopping back into her chair and immediately digging into the pockets of her leather jacket.
Glory and gore go hand in hand, that's why we're making headlines
