Victoria
Victoria could only watch helplessly as Diana called her uncle. Hopefully Lawson would come bail her out. She'd find a way to pay him back as soon as possible; she could get some money by sewing for people in the dorms. Thankfully Lawson had answered but she couldn't hear anything he was saying so she was in the dark until Diana told her what was happening. Her stomach was a mess and she began to pace back and forth, not liking the looks she got from her cellmates.
Lawson
Lawson started awake when his cell phone rang and he quickly rolled over to look at it. Hadn't he turned it on "Do Not Disturb" mode? He frowned when he didn't recognize the number and he was about to ignore it, but something told him he should answer it. He looked over when he heard Ellen's voice and he became even more frustrated at whoever was calling him at this hour. He knew Ellen had been having trouble getting to sleep and she'd obviously been woken up, and he could only hope she'd be able to go back to sleep. "Try and go back to sleep. It's just a weird number." He pressed talk and put the phone to his ear. "Hello?" He asked, obviously frustrated. But he sat up in bed when he heard Victoria's name. "What kind of predicament?" He asked worriedly. Was Victoria hurt? He really hoped not. But as Diana elaborated Lawson's face became blank. He was shocked. How could this have happened to Victoria? She was such a good kid… It had to be a mistake. "All right, I'll be there as soon as I can." He hopped out of bed and began getting dressed. "How much is bail?" He almost dropped the phone. "How much!?" He sighed and shook his head. "It has to be a mistake. I'll be right down." Then he clicked the phone off and looked back at Ellen. He hoped she hadn't heard any of that. He didn't want her to worry.
