One track mind, one track heart; if I fail, I'll fall apart
If there was one thing that Ryker took to heart it was excitement about her passion for photography. She went from feeling sort of shaky to feeling as though she was on cloud nine; the fact that Savanna was genuinely complimenting her work was enough to make her giddy. "Yeah, sure, I've thought about it. But you can't really make a living that way unless you want to work for magazines or something. But I think if I could be anywhere it would be travelling the world taking pictures for National Geographic and...I don't know why I'm telling you all of this, I'm sorry." And immediately Savanna was off onto the next thing, forcing a smile to cross Ryker's lips. "Yeah, I'm from New York. I'd love for you to come back home with me. The shopping's insane there. Sam never really...shit, sorry. Anyway I'm heading back that way in three weeks if you wanna go. We could stay at my parent's house."
Ryker could tell from the moment that Savanna took a seat next to her that the order of things had shifted. Savanna was in control now as much as she didn't want her to be. Every thing Ryker did to distance herself was so easily and subtly combated with another action to keep her where she was wanted. She felt the rivalry turn into a tension that gave way to heat, and finally things were starting to make a bit more sense. In fact, it wasn't until recently that Ryker found out that this could have even been a possibility, what was happening now between the two of them. But now everything was making a bit more sense.
She hadn't, however, been ready for the way Savanna pushed her back, pinned her, with such quick force. The girl was tiny but she didn't seem to realize it. It was clear to her in those few moments that Savanna was much more experienced than herself. All of her thoughts melted away the second she felt Savanna's lips trailing kisses down her neck, and her mouth parted slightly. Her hands reached up to find Sav's shoulders, digging into the exposed skin as soon as she found them. And then her lips were on hers and they were kissing, only to have Savanna break it off way too soon. "No," she started, shifting underneath the other girl, "No, it's okay. This is okay."
Her breathy words hung in the air between them for only a moment before Ryker was pushing her down on the couch, her shoulders pushed against the armrests. A slender hand traced a deliberate line over Sav's side, her lips meeting hers again. Ryker's other free hand raced up Savanna's bare skin to her hemline, stopping off abruptly to tease her. Her nails dug into the skin of her thighs firmly, each of her moves deliberate and hurried with lust.
Whatever she'd gone through, whatever she was going through had no place in the air between them. She was starting to try and move forward, trying to distance herself from what was and never would be again in her mind. It wasn't hard to do with the sultry light reflecting in Savanna's eyes, so obvious now even in the dying sunlight. It didn't matter what her intentions could have been or were, this could just be sex and the rest could come later. The rest didn't have to matter.
I know exactly what I want and who I want to be
