Ryker, straight up, is a bitch. She treats herself like some privileged princess all because daddy's got money and everyone knows it. Her massive popularity both on and off campus, mixed with everything else good that life hands her, has given her a queen bee complex. She's self-absorbed and selfish at best, with very few ever being able to dig deep enough to find her redeeming qualities...if she even has any. A large portion of her outwardly cold attitude comes from her deep-routed insecurity about her sexuality. Having been brought up in a highly religious household (her father is a pastor at a local church on the weekends) her fear of not being accepted has given her a drive to make sure she's never the one up for other people's judging. Aside from all this, she takes meticulous care of her grades and has a passion for photography and fashion. Her goals are set on becoming a fashion designer in New York City and have her line be name-dropped by some of the hottest celebrities on the red carpet. Once that part of the world is no stranger to her name, she'll move on to the next best thing. The red carpet, perhaps?
>> friends & enemies ♥ Along the way, she managed to fall head-over-heels in love with Samantha Iris Cassidy, who tries hard to make her more aware that the universe doesn't, in fact, revolve around her. The two of them are constantly on-again, off-again, both parties seeing other people in between. ♥ Kennedy Armitage is her cousin as well as her friend. Though the two don't really see eye-to-eye, Ryker is incredibly protective of her and treats her more like a sister. ♥ Mikaela Davis has been her best friend all through her life, and eventually her family took her out of her bad situation and into their home. She is now treated on the same regards as her family treats Ryker. ♥ Aria Goodman is the only other person in this world Ryker could consider a friend. Though they had a falling out in the not-so-distant past that lasted a considerable amount of times, things are 'go' with them once more. ✘ Carmen Pierce and Ryker will never be on friendly terms. She doesn't like her friendship with Sam or her connections with Kennedy, doesn't like her attitude, doesn't like the way she looks. She often refers to her as the 'street rat.' ✘ Ever since Brooklyn Cavanaugh called her a princess with a 'stick up her ass', Ryker hasn't cared for her. The truth is hard to deal with, I suppose. ✘ Harper Lewis dated the girl she loves and is a weak, over-dramatic loon. I guess that means Ryker isn't her biggest fan, either.
nineteen | bisexual | single face claim: rita ora *if drugs/alcohol bother you, Carmen is NOT for you.
Carmen was exposed to a lot of criminal activity at a young age. Her father was active in gangs, and it was not uncommon for him to be in and out of jail for robberies and drug related crime. At home, he frequently physically abused her mother, so needless to say, when her father was finally convicted for murder (which they later stacked to eight counts) it was a blessing and a curse. Although Carmen was determined to not follow in her father's footsteps, she began selling drugs to make money to afford a better education for herself, determined to avoid living the rest of her life committing crime in the slums to get by. She knows she's pretty much her father's clone and it's something that haunts and discourages her through every walk of life, especially since so many people are counting on her inevitable fall. Over her time selling, she's tried many things but has never fallen victim to addiction. Her substance use comes generally gives off hints to how things in her present life are going and can range from not at all to semi-heavy use. Her usage does not effect her day-to-day life, and instead is done in the privacy of her dorm room or at parties. Naturally, Carmen is very guarded, but also very laid back and easy going. Nothing really gets under her skin and she can laugh about almost everything. She's a tough girl who has earned respect on the streets from the bottom up, so while she isn't outwardly hostile, it's best not to cross her. With Carmen, you will get exactly what you give.
>>friends & enemies ♥ Savanna Hamilton is currently the girl taking up most of Carmen's time, and she isn't complaining. What started as a simple drug connection evolved into a friendship, and now is starting to progress towards a crush. ♥ Brooklyn Cavanaugh dates back as one of Carmen's oldest and dearest friends, and it seems as though it always will be that way. ♥ Although she and Samantha Cassidy have a friendship on the down low after a brief fling, Carmen adores her. She's always there when she's had a bad day ready to make her laugh. - Things with her and Kennedy Armitage have been over for quite some time now, but she was Carmen's first love. And even though Carmen wants to hate her, she can't help but still care about her. ✘ The feelings Ryker Armitage has for her are mutual. ✘ Harper Lewis is always in the fuckin' way.

At the age of three, Harper was separated from her biological parents by child protective services and placed in a foster family. Her biological mother and father, at the time, were hoarders. The living situation was unsafe, unsanitary, and the mental states of her parents were declining. After multiple visits from the government, with little to no improvement to the situation, Harper was finally removed. It wasn't until later in life did she also learn that both of her parents abused illegal substances and suffered from debilitating depressive episodes that left Harper severely neglected. It wasn't until even later still did Harper come face-to-face with her half-sibling, Autumn, who she now absolutely adores. Although she is a sweet girl, Harper is very introverted. She doesn't do well in many social situations, and because of this and her highly driven nature, can easily be looked over or marked off as rude or cold. If it's not that, people are so quick to dismiss her as one of those perfect girls -- which is so far from reality. Her mind is almost always going a million miles per hour, and sometimes she's so distracted by everything going on in there that she misses everything going on around her. She caves in to pressure and stress a little too easily and isn't a stranger to becoming overwhelmed or having total meltdowns over small things. Harper thrives in her adopted home and does very well in school, wanting nothing more than to become a surgeon. For a while, her aspirations were derailed by a self-harming episode that was a result of pressure, stress, and other emotional hardships. She's attempted rehab with the support of her friends, but unfortunately still battles with this.
>> friends & enemies * Nancy Amelia Kingston is Harper's adopted sister. ♥ Kennedy Armitageis the first person Harper ever really fell for, which was a struggle in itself. They butt heads and argue more than anything else, and drama with Carmen put everything to a rocky start. Currently, they are at a point where they aren't speaking, but Harper will always care very deeply for her. ♥ Samantha Cassidy is the one person Harper has truly made a connection with since coming to Wentworth. In a lot of ways, she is her supporter and her constant encouragement to better herself. ✘ There aren't many people Harper actually hates; she is usually the hated. The only two people that really get under her skin are Ryker and Carmen.

Brooklyn is a very outgoing, optimistic kind of girl. She has a heavy sarcastic overtone and can poke jokes at literally any situation (making it also very easy for her to rub off the wrong way on others.) She's loud, fun, and loves to party and meet new people. Brooke is definitely the kind of girl to bring the party with her wherever she goes, and has a spitfire personality that really is somewhat admirable. She'll try anything once and loves to have a good time even if she makes herself look like an idiot in the process. Largely, she is definitely misread. A lot of her see her somewhat carefree exterior as 'ditsy' or 'stupid', when in actuality, she's a very intelligent girl (near perfect score on the SATs and a 140 IQ.) And where she seems pretty shallow and always happy, the other side of her shows a very different and real person. Truthfully, with Brooklyn you never know exactly which side of her you'll get -- the best thing to do with her is to try.
>> friends & enemies ...are not something she wastes her time with. she has people she parties with, and people she cares about, but they know who they are. but frankly, she doesn't care who hates her and doesn't waste her time noting these people down. she's sure the list is endless, anyway.

Mikaela had a very troubled upbringing. So much so that eventually, after many years of her always trying to stay with Ryker and her family as long as possible and many nights of begging not to be taken home, she was officially adopted by them (and her biological parents couldn't care less.) But really, you'd never know it by looking at her or speaking with her. She's always laughing, always smiling, and is the type of girl who never lets anyone be sad. Although she's got her negative quirks (lazy and the world's biggest procrastinator, can't ever stay focused, doesn't take things seriously) she's got a million redeeming qualities. Mikaela's just the type of girl who entirely believes that there's more important things in life than wasting away at school or an office for the rest of her life, and because of this, she has an avid passion in travelling and dabbling in all that life has to offer. You'll rarely ever hear of her turning down an opportunity to experience something new in life. She's sweet, considerate, kind, and decent ... exactly all the reasons why Ryker adores her so much and why she finds it almost impossible to make enemies. No one ever really has a bad word to say about her, and if they did, she's the type of girl who would instantly try to redeem herself with them. She's very sensitive to other people's feelings and what they think of her, even if she tries sometimes to be a bit more detached so she doesn't get hurt quite as much. For the people who have a hard time trusting others, who need that positive influence to rebuild their confidence, or need a reason to smile -- Mikaela's the girl for the job.
ELLEN ELIZABETH WATSON: That sounds familiar. I used to be that way. I still am, but I've learned to let go a little.

ELLEN ELIZABETH WATSON: Everyone screws up. I've screwed up so many times I can't even keep track, but you just have to pick yourself up and learn to forgive yourself which can be the hardest thing to do

EMMA GRACE DANVERS (GOODMAN): Thank you so much Ellen. I know Alec is there to encourage me, but sometimes I feel he's put me on this great mother pedestal. I'm afraid of screwing up.

ELLEN ELIZABETH WATSON: I wouldn't worry too much Emma. You're very maternal, something I never was, and I managed to do it alone. If you ever need to talk about parenting, I'm always here

EMMA GRACE DANVERS (GOODMAN): well I think Alec will be worried when it comes to that age. He'll probably buy a shotgun and ward off any boy who comes a courting.

ELLEN ELIZABETH WATSON: -laughs- you don't have to worry about that for a while. I told Victoria when she was going into sixth grade, but I think it also depends on the child
