there's a drumming noise inside my heart
The brunette sighed softly, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. It had been an extremely long day and to wind down, she decided to treat herself to ice cream. That was, until, the babysitter had called in a panic. Andrew had been developing a fever the past few days, but it seemed nonexistent today... Boy, had they been wrong. The sitter, named Camille, had rung her on her cell and Blythe could clearly pick up on the tone of her voice; something was wrong. "His fever is back! I tried everything I could think of to keep him cool but he just won't stop crying and it's not helping him in the slightest." Now, the twenty one year old knew the teen wasn't always the sharpest tool in the shed, especially once she was worked up into a state of anxiety. The other day, she had put her son in an ice bath to cool him down when really, all Camille needed to do was give him some infant Tylenol. Perhaps she had over looked this once again?
"Cam, did you try giving him medicine? There's still some Tylenol in the bathroom cabinet," she replied softly, pinching the bridge of her nose. Honestly, it would just be easier if she didn't go back to work so soon. Her career could always wait if Camille couldn't do a good job... "Ooohhh, you're right, Miss. Whitley! I'll try that! Thank you." The line went dead after the perky quality returned to Camille's voice and Blythe slipped her phone back into her pocket, suddenly feeling an extra large ice cream sundae.
She stepped up to the counter, eyes roaming the flavors presented before her. Normally, she was a chocolate kind of girl, but birthday cake was slowly but surely growing on her taste buds. "Hi, welcome to Cold Stone! What would you like?" The teen behind the counter was kind and she offered a grateful smile as she finally decided what she would get. "Hi! Um... Could I have birthday cake in your largest container?" He nodded and began to work, scooping the sweet dessert from its place and bringing it to the slab of stone. She requested rainbow sprinkles, some brownie pieces, and he topped it off with a drizzle of hot fudge. The Brazilian swore she had never seen such a delicious looking sundae before!
"Thank you!" She replied graciously as she retrieved it from him, offering a ten dollar bill and requesting that he keep the change. The rest of the workers didn't look too happy with her tip, for it meant they had to sing longer than normal, but it was well worth it. Blythe moved herself to a small table in the corner of the shop and dug her script out of her purse, eyes already trained on the first page. Her first movie role since returning from having her son... She had to knock this one out of the park and there was only one way she knew how to do that: practice.
that starts when you're around
