It was lunch time during the first full week of school. Marcus was having a really bad day. He was about to bust at the seams if he didn't go and talk to someone. He didn't want to speak to a counselor because he knew that they would talk to his mom. He didn't really have any friends to talk to. So the only other person he could go talk to was Lawson, his mother's boyfriend. He knew that if he asked Lawson to keep what they talked about a secret, he would. Marcus remembered his mother telling him what room Lawson was in and he began to make his way towards Lawson's room. He made a quick detour to the bathroom. He hid inside a stall and he took out his blade. He slid up his sleeve and he made a single cut on his wrist. He sighed as he felt the calmness wash over him. He wiped the blade off with toilet paper and he slid it back into his pocket. He wiped his wrist and he slid his hoodie sleeve down. He flushed the toilet paper down the toilet and he made his way out of the bathroom towards Lawson's room.
Marcus slowed his walk and he opened the door stepping inside. He sighed in relief when he saw that Lawson didn't have a class and he was in the room by himself. He knocked on the door, "Can we talk?" Marcus whispered. He really didn't want to talk but he needed to talk to someone otherwise he was going to explode. He just hoped that the cut on his wrist didn't start bleeding while he was talking to Lawson. That was the last thing he needed, was for his mother's boyfriend to find out what he's been doing for the past year or so. He really hoped that Lawson would have time to talk to him.
