Classes were to start soon, and Ellen wasn't even remotely close to being ready. She probably was readier than she believed, but Elle loved to have everything prepared right down to her lesson plans for the first few weeks of school. That was why she had gotten up early to go into school and get her room set up. She had left a note for Lawson and her kids. Nobody was up at this hour, and who was she to deny them sleeping in during the last few days of summer vacation? So once she was dressed in something comfortable, she was off for the day.
Once Ellen pulled into the parking lot, opened her trunk and took out a few maps and diagrams she was intending to hang up in her classroom. She was juggling about five different items when she got to the front door and realized she had to open the door. A heavy sigh left her lips before she put a couple of the objects on the ground and then opened the doors. When she entered the building she immediately went up the stair to her classroom before unlocking the door to her room. It was nice to be back.
She put her maps down on the back counter and began straightening desks out before she went to take a seat at her own desk. A huge smile appeared on her face when she saw it was exactly as she left it. She began working diligently on lesson plans before deciding to take a break to hang up the maps. She opened up her drawer and reached for the box of push pins. Elle started with a map of medieval Europe and decided to hang it on the right hand wall, closest to the window. She dragged a chair over to her designated spot and started hanging it up, finding it difficult to get it straight. When the door to her classroom opened, she was so concentrated that she practically fell off her chair. Thankfully she didn't, but she did drop the poster she had been carefully hanging.
