Lawson had thanked Ellen profusely for dropping him off at his dental appointment earlier that morning. He hadn't been able to get a cab and he really wouldn't be able to know how he'd react to the pain medication, so he didn't trust himself to ride with a stranger. Who knew if he'd give the wrong directions and end up in Minnesota or something. He inherited his father's bad teeth genes, so no matter how many times he brushed and flossed, something was always still wrong with his teeth. Today he needed to have two root canals on his first and second molars, and he was not looking forward to it at all. But he wanted healthy teeth, so this was the price he had to pay… sadly.
He'd told Ellen to drop him off and then go home for four hours or do whatever she wanted. He was going to be done at one in the afternoon and thankfully the dentist had finished on time. However, Lawson's teeth proved to be more sensitive than any of them had anticipated, so he'd ended up having to be knocked out in order for the dentist to continue the procedure. When he woke up, he was delirious and wasn't really sure of what the dentist was saying. All he knew was that he had supposedly taken the first dose of pain medication at the dentist's office but was supposed to pick up a prescription for the rest later on in the day. He would remember to tell Ellen. Ellen. He loved that name so much. He smiled when he thought of that beautiful woman, unaware of the people giving him unsure looks.
He stumbled into the car when Ellen picked him up and tried putting on his seatbelt. He had a little trouble but soon got it clicked into place. He thanked her for picking him up and, despite still being delirious from the medication, stayed quiet for the rest of the ride. It was more than likely due to the fact that he was absolutely fascinated by the passing trees outside. How were they moving so fast? Watching them zoom by the whole way home had only made his dizziness worse, so he fell when he got out of the car. The world was spinning and he blinked a few times to try and straighten it out, but it wasn't working. Suddenly he felt tired and nauseas and the only thing he wanted to do was sleep. It wouldn't be too bad if he slept on the ground, right? He closed his eyes and just laid there on the pavement. "I'm okay right here," he said to Elle, waving her off and failing at it.
