date night--}

Lawson took exactly three hours to get ready for his first official date with Ellen. He was so nervous; he wanted this date to be perfect. He'd bought tickets to see the local theatre's production of Shakespeare's "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream". He and Ellen loved Shakespeare, so why not go see one of his plays on their first date? Thankfully he hadn't had to wait for a Shakespeare play to come to town. He hoped they wouldn't make the show in modern times. He thought it was interesting and cool when pulled off correctly, but right now he was in the mood to see the play performed in the time it was written.
He'd purchased the tickets before he even asked Ellen- some wishful thinking on his part. He had been so nervous he was shaking, possibly even visibly. If Ellen had noticed, she thankfully hadn't said anything. Though he had seen her eyeing him differently before he'd asked her to go out with him.
'I bought tickets to go see "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the local theatre next Friday… I was wondering if you'd like to join me?' He'd asked her, noticing that his voice wasn't as confident as it usually was. His stomach was churning while he waited for her answer, and a huge grin broke across his face when she'd said yes. So then he had to wait a whole week for tonight. It had been the longest wait of his life, really.
He'd heard the actors in the show were great and knew what they were doing. He hoped they wouldn't butcher it. He straightened his tie one last time and then jumped in his car and went over to Ellen's. He knocked on the door and wiped his hands on pants to try and dry his hands. He was sweating, but thankfully it was mostly on his hands and not his face. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous… Maybe because he hadn't done this in years and Ellen made him want to be the best person he could be.
